Yellow Pink Red Window
2004 existent window, glass, gel filters, wood.
dimensions (window+frame): 250 x 250 cm
Yellow Pink Red Window relates to the horizontal proportions inside the room. It is oriented southwest, thus receiving direct sunlight for most of the afternoon. One projector with high colour temperature (6000º K) is placed on the outside, as an artificial light source mixing with sunlight as dusk comes and night falls.
The Window series take existing windows in a building and redesign the way they function as light interfaces. Windows frame and channel light, into and from a space. Glass windows have a sort of reversible behavior. During daytime, they channel sunlight, affecting the light inside a room. At night, they become highlights “marking” the image of a building.
